Screenprinting

Screenprinting is a process of printing designs onto shirts or objects over and over using an image that has been burned into a screen. The screen has been specially prepared with a photographic film that allows it to accept the image needing to be printed. Each screen is used to print one color of the design onto your shirt. The cost of screenprinting is directly related to the number of colors in your design and the number of shirts you need to have printed. The more colors in your design, the higher the cost to print due to the extra screens needed and extra time needed to print each color. Printing a design on each side of a shirt will increase your shirt cost as well since it involves printing and curing the print on one side of the shirt before starting over with the printing and curing of the print on the other side of the shirtt.

White shirts cost less to have printed than do colored shirts since they cost less to purchase and are easier to print. Black shirts or dark colored shirts often require a white underbase print first before the design colors are printed or the colors will not show up well. This will increase the cost of printing the shirt as an additional color cost(for the white underbase print) may be needed for some designs. You can email your design to us to see if this is needed.
